Question 1

What makes iwantesim different from other eSIM providers?

Accepted Answer

iWanteSIM is an independent comparison site. We list partner prices side by side, show when each price was checked, and send you to the retailer with a sponsored referral link. We do not sell eSIMs or take payment.

Question 2

How do I check if my device is compatible with eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Most modern smartphones support eSIM technology. You can check compatibility on our website by entering your device model, or look for eSIM support in your phone's settings. Popular devices like recent iPhones (XS and newer), Samsung Galaxy (S20 and newer), and Google Pixel (3 and newer) are all compatible.

Question 3

What's the best time to set up my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

We recommend activating your eSIM after you've landed at your destination. You can use the airport's WiFi or your accommodation's internet connection for a smooth activation process. This ensures your eSIM is properly configured for the local network and ready to use immediately.

Question 4

How fast is the activation process?

Accepted Answer

After you choose a plan here, you buy and install it on the partner store. Most retailers email a QR code immediately. Follow their install steps on Wi-Fi before or after you land.

Question 5

Can I use iwantesim in multiple countries?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We offer both single-country and multi-country plans. Our regional and global plans allow you to use your eSIM across multiple countries without needing to purchase separate plans. The connection switches automatically as you cross borders.

Question 6

What's the coverage like in less populated areas?

Accepted Answer

We partner with multiple networks in each country to ensure broad coverage. While service is excellent in urban areas, we also maintain strong connectivity in rural locations through our network partnerships. You can check our detailed coverage maps for specific area information.

Question 7

What speeds can I expect with iwantesim?

Accepted Answer

Our eSIMs connect to 4G/5G networks where available, offering speeds suitable for streaming, video calls, and all your internet needs. Actual speeds vary by location and network conditions, but we always connect you to the strongest available signal.

Question 8

Do iwantesim plans include voice calls and SMS?

Accepted Answer

We offer both data-only plans and plans with voice/SMS capabilities. Data-only plans are perfect for using messaging apps and internet calls, while our voice/SMS plans provide traditional calling capabilities. Check the plan details to see what's included.

Question 9

What kind of support does iwantesim provide?

Accepted Answer

We offer 24/7 customer support through multiple channels including live chat, email, and phone. Our technical team can assist with everything from compatibility checks to activation support and troubleshooting. We also provide detailed setup guides for all major device types.

Question 10

Can I keep my regular SIM while using an eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Modern eSIM-enabled devices support dual SIM functionality. Keep your home number active on your physical SIM while using the eSIM for data abroad. This gives you the flexibility to use both services simultaneously.

Question 11

What if I accidentally remove my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

No need to worry - you can easily reinstall your eSIM using your original QR code, which is always available in your account dashboard. If you can't find it, our support team is ready to help restore your connection immediately.

Question 12

How secure are eSIM connections?

Accepted Answer

Security is our priority. We use industry-standard encryption for all data transmissions, and our eSIMs include built-in security features. Our network partners are carefully selected to ensure they meet international security standards.

Question 13

Can I share my eSIM connection?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can use your device as a mobile hotspot to share your connection with other devices, subject to your plan's data allowance and your device's capabilities. This is perfect for connecting laptops or tablets while traveling.

Question 14

How do I estimate my data needs?

Accepted Answer

Data usage varies by activity. Light users (email, messaging, maps) typically need 1-2GB weekly, while heavy users (streaming, video calls) might need 5GB or more. We offer flexible plans to match all usage patterns and will help you choose the right plan based on your needs.

Question 15

What happens if I need more data during my trip?

Accepted Answer

You can easily purchase additional data through your iwantesim account at any time. Our top-up options are flexible and activate instantly, ensuring you stay connected without interruption. We'll even send you notifications when you're running low on data.

Question 16

Can I modify my plan after purchasing?

Accepted Answer

While the initial plan parameters are fixed upon activation, you can always purchase top-ups or additional plans. For longer stays, we recommend our flexible plans that allow data add-ons without needing to purchase a completely new plan.

Question 17

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

While eSIMs are digital products activated upon delivery, we stand behind our service quality. If you experience technical issues before activation, we'll work to resolve them or provide a refund. Contact our support team for assistance.

Question 18

Do eSIM plans expire?

Accepted Answer

Yes, each plan has a specific validity period. You can choose plans ranging from a few days to several months. The data and validity period are clearly shown before purchase, and we'll notify you before your plan expires.
